DER ALTE SIMPL OR THE FOREVER YOUNG AVANTGARDE

Who doesn't like to live in the presence of great history? Who wouldn't want to drink and eat where the great once did? “Der Alte Simpl” has remained an inn for the special to this day.

It starts with the fact that it still has its history to this day: From 1903, the landlady Kathi Kobus collected the famous poets Frank Wedekind, Ludwig Thoma, Karl Valentin and Joachim Ringelnatz as well as the two illustrators Thomas Theodor Heine and Olaf Gulbransson gave the area around Munich's Türkenstrasse the atmosphere and flair of art and avantgarde. Among the guests was the chansonnier Walter Hillbring, who always left the small stage of the inn when he didn't like the audience.

After 1960, “Der Alte Simpl” under the actress Toni Netzle became a popular meeting place for politicians, journalists, theater and film people. In the meantime, young artists, students and other creative people populate “Der Alte Simpl”, which still operates under the logo of the red bulldog created by Thomas Theodor Heine. Do you want to have a light drink there?

It is best to go there with Andy Fox if you would like to find out more about the living life in Munich from your relocation scout: https://www.realocation.de/en/inquiry
